Vanderbilt CB Tre' Bell Transferring to UConn

Tre' Bell, a former 3-star cornerback from the class of 2013, will be transferring to UConn from Vanderbilt. The paperwork was finalized this morning.

The Vanderbilt Scout site reported his potential transfer and that UConn was a likely destination one month ago. UConn head coach Bob Diaco had recruited Bell out of high school in New Jersey while Diaco was the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame.

The first solid indication that Bell would end up at UConn came via a tweet late Tuesday night from a UConn player. Last night Rivals received word from Bell's father and a source at UConn confirmed the news today.

Bell redshirted his first year on campus at Vanderbilt. He started four games in his redshirt freshman season and saw action in 11 out of 12 games this past season as a redshirt sophomore. He will have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules, but will likely be slotted as a starting corner for his senior campaign.
