UConn Football Adds Three New Players For Class of 2016

Three players, including two from Connecticut, committed to join the UConn Huskies on Sunday after making a weekend visit to Storrs. It is believed that all three are coming to UConn as preferred walk-ons.

Teddy Allmendinger played linebacker and fullback at Avon High. He will join the Huskies on offense, where he will have as good an opportunity as anyone to earn playing time. UConn has had an opening at the fullback position after moving Matt Walsh to linebacker and with Jazzmar Clax graduating. UConn Report spoke with Allmendinger in November.

Jack Giaconia played offensive and defensive line at Valley Regional High in Deep River, CT. Standing 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, he has a lot of promise as a nose tackle at the next level. He earned the Hartford Courant's All-State honorable mention in addition to his third All-Pequot Conference selection this past season and has also excelled in the classroom. He had a lot of interest from the FCS ranks, making visits to Central Connecticut State and also the University of Rhode Island before choosing to come to UConn.

Mason Donaldson is an ATH prospect who played all over the field for Salisbury Township High in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was a first-team All-Colonial League selection at wide receiver, defensive back, and kicker.
